Like so many others, I usually fear unknown territory. Why? Well, fear of the unknown seems to magnify risks. I fear the judgment that may come with it, I fear the consequences that it may lead to and I fear the fact that I may just fail in one way or another.

That’s right. Fear of the unknown and the mental uncertainty that it creates, has the ability to completely scare us off and freeze our actions.

BUT… Being scared is part of life and is exactly what pushes us forward.  As much as life can really screw us over sometimes, there are still so many things around us to be grateful for, enjoy and take on. I don’t think I would be who I am or where I am today if I had not taken risks or overcome fear, even in its most trivial form.

Presently, my challenge and leap of faith has been the development of this blog. But I am determined to make this work. So, let me begin with my adventure into THE UNKNOWN.

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.
To reach out to others is to risk involvement.
To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self.
To place your ideas, your dreams before a crowd is to risk their loss.
To love is to risk not being loved in return.
To live is to risk dying.
To hope is to risk despair.
To try is to risk failure.
The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, and is nothing.
